Employee Spotlight: Empowering Generations One Mission at a Time
In honor of Women’s History Month, we’re proud to highlight a woman who embodies resilience, discipline, and the power of showing up. Living in Louisiana and working remotely, Bianca Koch has been a driving force on our Inglet Blair team since July 2024. As an Executive Administrator and mom of two, she brings focus, grit, and heart into everything she does.
If you’re looking for Bianca at 4:30 AM, you won’t find her hitting the snooze button. While most of the world is still dreaming, she is already deep into her workout session – a habit that begins with a 3:00 AM alarm. By the time she logs on for her workday, Bianca has already conquered her workout, regulated her emotions, and likely sent a few encouragement texts to friends who might be tempted to skip their own goals. For Bianca, being a strong woman isn’t just a personal goal. It’s a standard she’s setting for the next generation.
Lessons from the United States Marine Corps
At 17, a chance encounter with a recruiter changed the trajectory of Bianca’s life. She spent four years in the United States Marine Corps as a bandsman, playing the clarinet while absorbing the foundational lessons of military life. She learned quickly that she had to work hard to prove herself in a largely male-dominated arena. “I’ve taken the lessons from the Marine Corps and taught my daughter to stay on her toes.” In a world that can challenge women to shrink, Bianca is intentional about raising a woman who stands tall: strong, capable, and confident.
Her time in the service also instilled a “maximum level of physical readiness” and a leadership philosophy she carries into her work today: “You take care of the troops, and the troops take care of the mission.” This translates directly to her role at Inglet Blair where she believes that when employees feel valued and led well, they aren’t just workers; they are partners in the mission.
Lifting More Than Weights
Bianca’s passion for fitness extends far beyond herself. A former certified trainer, she continues to coach others simply because she loves it, leading group workouts, creating meal plans, and checking in weekly…all for free. Her mission is simple: make fitness accessible, especially for women.
Known affectionately by friends as the “Gym Bully,” she holds people accountable not out of pressure, but out of belief in what they’re capable of. “As a woman, it’s empowering to be strong. There’s a confidence that comes with it.”
“I Can Do Hard Things”
Bianca’s resume of hard things is constantly growing. While she’s a gym rat at heart, she uses that strength to tackle endurance challenges, like a recent half marathon with her 12-year-old son. At mile 10, when he wanted to quit, she stayed by his side, offering the kind of tough love you’d expect from a proud mom and Marine Corps veteran. They crossed the finish line together at exactly her 2-hour goal (and new personal best).
“I cried after,” she admits. “It was reminiscent of what life is. So many hard parts where you feel like you can’t keep going. If you drown out the noise, you can accomplish so much more. Your mind tells you to stop, but you have to trust your body.”
And when things don’t go as planned, she embraces that too. After falling short in a powerlifting competition, she leaned into the lesson: “You can’t have success without failure. Go back, adjust, and keep improving.”
At the Heart of It All
Lest you think it’s all protein shakes and 3:00 AM wake-up calls, Bianca is a firm believer in balance. Her life is a masterclass in prioritizing what matters. Beyond her accomplishments, what stands out most is who Bianca is to others. She’s the mom who shows up to every field trip, the one all the kids know, and the woman young girls look to for inspiration.
And at the center of it all is her relationship with her kids. One built on openness, accountability, and love. “I’ve never been a mom before. I’m learning too.” It’s that honesty, strength, and compassion that defines Bianca and reminds us that being a strong woman means having the discipline to show up for yourself so you can show up for everyone else.
The Gym Bully’s Rules for Success
- Semper Gumby: Always stay flexible. Whether it’s a change in the workout or a pivot at the office, the ability to adapt is your greatest strength.
- Drown Out the Noise: When your mind starts telling you to quit at “mile 10”, trust your body. You’ve done the work. Now finish the mission!
- The Morning Standard: You don’t find time to regulate your emotions and build strength. You MAKE it! Beat the sun to the punch.
- Strength has No Gender: Heavy weights don’t make you look like a man. They make you look like a woman who can handle whatever life throws at her.
- No Damsels Allowed: Cultivate the wit and the grit to be your own hero. Strength is your superpower.
- The “Sweet” Success Clause: Training hard is non-negotiable, but so is ice cream with the kids. Discipline is nothing without balance.
- Check on Your Troops: Whether you’re feeling strong or weak, share it with someone you care about. We all get to the finish line faster when we pull each other up.
